Angela Watkins Chosen as Future Leader

Magnolia Manor Corporate Office, Americus, GA, June 29, 2018 – The Georgia Health Care Association and the Georgia Center for Assisted Living (GHCA/GCAL) announced that Angela Watkins has been chosen by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) as a future leader in long term and post-acute care (LTPAC). Angela Watkins will join the Association’s Future Leaders program, a year-long program that offers training and guidance for LTPAC professionals.

“Angela has moved beyond setting the bar here at Magnolia Manor. She is now recognized at the state and national level for her leadership in pursuing quality,” said Hill Fort, Senior Vice President for Operations at Magnolia Manor.

“At Magnolia Manor, we believe in servant leadership. Angela puts others first and helps others perform to the best of their ability,” stated Steve Vinson, Senior Vice President for Communications. “We are proud of her and are eager to see what more she will accomplish.”

Administrator Angela Watkins stated, “I just feel very privileged to get this honor. I certainly did not expect it.”

Before Magnolia Manor commenced operations at the Marion County facility in 2004, Angela Watkins worked as a part-time, weekend supervisor when it was an adult living center. Watkins eventually became Director of Nursing, working in this capacity for the next eight years. Then, in 2012 she became the Administrator of Magnolia Manor of Marion County, where she continues to show excellent leadership qualities.

“I really hope to hone my leadership skills further and learn even more ways to enhance the quality of life for the residents here at Magnolia Manor. I would like to learn ways to improve things for employees as well. I’m very proud of our team and excited about our continued growth here at the Marion County facility.”

Since 2004, AHCA/NCAL has hosted LTPAC professionals in the Future Leaders program. Selected participants both demonstrate leadership potential and represent the interests of both state and national long term care providers. The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction, and leadership. The year-long program kicks off with a two-day symposium, “Future Leaders of Long Term Care in America,” held each year in Washington, D.C. This year’s symposium will take place September 26 – 28, 2018.
