MAGNOLIA MANOR OF COLUMBUS RECOGNIZED FOR HIGH QUALITY OF CARE; GHCA AND ALLOANT QUALITY CONGRATULATE NURSING CENTER

Magnolia Manor Corporate Office, Americus, GA, February 8, 2018 – The Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) and Alliant Quality, the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Georgia and North Carolina, have recognized Columbus West Nursing Center for their commitment to improving the quality of health care for Georgians.

“We are very proud of our dedicated employees and their focus on resident-centered care. Magnolia Manor is committed to delivering the highest quality service,” said Daron Butler, Columbus West Administrator.

“Magnolia Manor of Columbus is truly committed to improving the quality of care for Georgians,” noted Linda Kluge, QIN-QIO Executive Director. “By working to improve quality, Columbus West improved residents’ lives and helped to reduce health care costs.”

“The outstanding centers presented with the 2017 Georgia Quality Award have greatly demonstrated their willingness to go above and beyond to reach operational and clinical excellence through hard work and performance improvement achievements,” said GHCA President & CEO Tony Marshall. “On behalf of the entire GHCA membership I thank them for their commitment to providing high quality care to the vulnerable individuals they serve .We are proud of Columbus West Nursing Center and pleased to be able to recognize them for their work that helps the people of “Columbus and the surrounding area.”

The Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) along with Alliant Quality present the Georgia Quality Awards each year to select Georgia skilled nursing care centers.  Winners of this award have signed the Quality First Pledge and enrolled in the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Home Campaign.  They must be actively participating in the Georgia Quality Improvement Program and also comply with stringent program standards.

Facilities are judged on results of state surveys, CMS quality measures and performance on internal quality improvement projects. Quality of care measures for all nursing homes are tracked and reported publicly on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Nursing Home Compare website.
