Magnolia Manor Home Office, Americus, GA, October 4, 2022 – Magnolia Manor of Marion County’s Tina Gray was selected by the Georgia Health Care Association to be the 2022 Activity Professional of the Year. To achieve this accomplishment, Activity Professionals must demonstrate qualities such as dependability, dedication, and a strong work ethic. Sound candidates must also participate in the Georgia Society of Activity Professionals (GSAP), an affiliate organization of the GHCA. The GSAP serves to promote programs that improve activities at facilities in the GHCA organization. As the President of the West Central Council, Gray has exemplified professionalism in her involvement with the GSAP. Gray received the Activity Professional of the Year Award at the 2022 GHCA Quality Summit held in Macon, Georgia.

“Winning Activity Professional of the Year is such a great honor and surprise! I had no idea I had been nominated until they called my name. To receive an award for something you love to do is amazing! I do it for the residents, and it’s a blessing to be a part of their lives,” Activity Director at Magnolia Manor of Marion County, Tina Gray stated.

In addition to her contributions to the GSAP, Gray has been instrumental in advocating for residents at Magnolia Manor of Marion County. As a way to further enhance the quality of life for residents, she is currently utilizing a program called, It’s Never 2 Late (iN2L). This interactive technology equipment allows residents to participate in stimulating activities that maintain and develop cognitive skills and mobility. Gray also works in conjunction with staff members in nursing, dietary, housekeeping, and other departments at the facility to provide support where needed and help meet each resident’s needs.

“I am so excited that Tina has been selected as the Activity Professional of the Year. She is so deserving of this award. She arrives to work early each day and puts the residents first. She goes beyond the call of duty to assist in other areas. She is the most diligent, dedicated Activity Professional you will ever meet, and Magnolia Manor of Marion County is blessed to have her,” stated Magnolia Manor of Marion County Administrator, Angela Watkins, R.N.
