Magnolia Manor Macon: a Carefree Retirement Gem

People describe Magnolia Manor in Macon as a “hidden delight.” That may seem somewhat odd, considering we’re centrally located – near downtown and near Riverside, too. We like to think we’re close to all the action – a central part of Macon’s vibrant lifestyle, nestled in peaceful surroundings.

After all, retirement should be about living life to the fullest, whether you’re still entirely independent or you need a little assistance with some daily tasks.

Macon is just one of nine Magnolia Manor campuses situated throughout southern Georgia. While this community reflects everything that makes Magnolia Manor so well-known and respected in the world of senior living, our Macon campus is also as unique as the city itself. In local style, our residents enjoy opportunities to nourish their minds, bodies, and spirit.

A small lake creates the central feature of this campus. (And, yep, you can catch a fish there if you’re so inclined.) The lake is surrounded by residences, including nicely-appointed independent living apartments and villas and our assisted living wing. There are two dozen Supportive Housing apartments as well, with subsidized rent for eligible low-income seniors. At Magnolia Manor, we believe that everyone deserves to live the best life possible.

Whereas the lake may be the visual heart of our community, our Linda H. Lane Resident Life Center provides the heartbeat of activity for our active retirees. Swimming in the pool for fun or formal exercise and working out with fitness equipment and in the aerobics studio are just a few ways residents stay trim and strong.

Stopping by the beauty/barber shop for a cut and style makes looking good convenient. And then there’s the dining room, where residents come for nutritious (and may we add, simply delicious) meals. We’re big on healthy eating here at Magnolia Manor, but we pay culinary tribute to our Georgia heritage with southern style menu favorites as well.

The Resident Life Center is also where residents congregate for card games and board games, sing-alongs, trivia contests, special entertainment, and seasonal activities. For example, at the end of November, we’re offering a class on wreath making and we’re getting together to decorate our community Christmas tree.macon senior living, independent living, assisted living low-income

Coming Together for Worship

With our foundation in the Methodist Church, Magnolia Manor is a faith-based community. Our Macon campus offers worship services every Sunday, along with regularly scheduled Bible study classes, and other spiritual activities. Still, we encourage residents of all faiths to join our family, and we welcome that diversity.

Macon at Your Doorstep

There are so many reasons to retire in Georgia, and Macon is just one of the communities that demonstrate why. Our central location affords residents easy access to everything this city has to offer. And, if you don’t know Macon, you might be surprised at how much there is to see and do and taste and hear here.

Speaking of music, you can check out the Allman Brothers Band Museum. Macon is also big on community events that bring folks together, including its most famous event, the International Cherry Blossom Festival.

The weather is great here – seasonal changes to enjoy but easy-going winters with just the occasional bit of snow. Active seniors can easily get outdoors to enjoy the town or the surrounding area.

And when the day is done, Magnolia Manor awaits, with all the comforts of home and a caring family of staff and neighbors.
