Our Magnolia Manor website contains lots of useful information about all nine of our campuses. But while living accommodations, care services, and amenities are all important factors in choosing a senior living community, prospective residents mostly want to know: what is it really like to live there? We try to portray that flavor as best we can, especially, in our quarterly Manor Living Magazine.
Are you ready for a raise? Prices go up and retired seniors need to keep up, so the Social Security Administration has announced a “pay” increase for more than 64 million folks who receive Social Security retirement benefits. Starting in January 2022, benefits will go up 5.9% -- the largest cost-of-living adjustment in quite some time. Of course, while your benefit is increasing, Medicare premiums are also going to increase.
We are blessed to have so many wonderful staff members at Magnolia Manor. We love and appreciate every one of them and we know our residents do, too. Each of them is inspiring in their own way. And, often, they tell us they’re the ones who feel inspired by the residents they get to interact with every day. It’s no wonder Magnolia Manor feels like family.
Just as the name implies, art therapy combines the creative process with psychotherapy, to help individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being. Art therapy addresses the mind, body, and spirit – a holistic approach to quality of life that we heartily endorse here at Magnolia Manor. But we appreciate art therapy for another reason, too.
If you are or know a senior citizen who is either preparing to undergo or recently underwent surgery, you need to consider carefully the rehabilitation programs available to you. Some might question whether senior rehabilitation after surgery is even important, or if general rest and pain medication might suffice. After all, wouldn’t one of the best ways of recovering after surgery simply be returning to one’s normal routine and daily life as soon as possible?
Searching for that just-right retirement community for yourself or a senior parent can be truly daunting. There are so many different types of facilities to choose from, and each one is unique in its living accommodation options, range of professional services, amenities and overall ambiance. We’ve all heard the expression “aging in place.” In a perfect world, we would never have to leave the home we love just because our mental and/or physical capabilities change. Yet for most of us that time does come. And when it does, choosing a full service retirement community will give you the peace of mind that you don’t have to move again.
When considering the care and health of our senior loved ones, there are many different options and terms to review and consider. Here at Magnolia Manor, we serve senior adults in southern Georgia for many of their health and wellness needs. Most prominently, our eight senior living communities offer varying levels of residential care.
One of our most important senior care services, however, is senior rehabilitation care.
